Wielding shovels for the occasion were, from left, Carl Lindner, president of American Financial Corp., a long-time supporter of the work of the Little Sisters; Charles H. Keating Jr., lay chairman of the building program; Mother Regina, superior of the nuns' St. Peter home; Archbishop Joseph L. Bernardin; Mother Cecilia de St. Georges, provincial of the order; and Father Francis H. Niehaus, archdiocesan coordinator of the project.
