The interior of the 98-year-old building was repainted and the altar, tabernacle, and baptistry were rearranged. Pews and chandeliers from the old St. Mary's church in Urbana (where a new church was built in 1966) were installed. Father Jesse W. exactly the wreckovation the Holy father would like us to rectify, Even in a church that small, we see the effort to put Christ to one side and make the priest the center of attention, we are no longer turned to Christ but have become a closed circle, priest facing people,congregation facing "presenter", with Christ off to one side, out of the loop so to speak. Is it any wonder we have lost our focus and gone into decline?
What the Egyptian said. I'm surprised this sort of thing went on that early -- 1967.
